In 2022, our university was approved 26 major key projects including the national key research and development projects, Scientific and Technological Innovation 2030 major projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology. In addition, SCU also got approved 66 science and technology projects of the MST, and more than 500 million yuan of special funds from the central government. The number and funding of approved projects reached new highs.

First Class universities are the main force of basic research and the source of major scientific and technological breakthroughs. The Ministry of Science and Technology projects, such as national key research and development plans, are the "main channels" for China to support major scientific and technological breakthroughs, and their approved projects are one of the important indicators to measure the academic level and scientific research strength of universities. In recent years, SCU has adhered to the "four orientations" of scientific and technological innovation, focused on major scientific issues and breakthroughs in core technologies, strengthened organized scientific research, carefully planned, precisely mobilized and finely promoted, and accelerated the improvement of internal organization and cultivation mechanism of major and key projects. All work has achieved remarkable results, providing important support for accelerating the development of world-class universities.
