To build world-class disciplines and universities (described as“double world-class”in Chinese), Sichuan University established the World-Class University Development Office (WUDO) in June 2017.

To implement China’s strategy to build world-class disciplines and universities (described as“double world-class”in Chinese), Sichuan University established the World-Class University Development Office (WUDO) in June 2017. With the aspiration to build Sichuan University into a first-class world university, WUDO is dedicated to the following work:
Support research and formulate medium- and long-term development strategies of Sichuan University.
Supervise schools and departments in formulating their medium- and long-term development plans.
Study development strategies and measures taken by top universities at home and abroad.
Conduct theoretical and empirical research on major issues associated with university reform and development.
Collect evidence for major university reforms and decisions through surveys.
Coordinate the implementation of the “Double World-Class Initiative.”
Feasibility study for new areas of study, and optimization and adjustment of existing disciplines, degrees and programs.
Evaluate and supervise teaching quality.
Revenue and expenditure planning for the university’s annual budget.
Budget verification and performance evaluation for national projects and major, special projects.
Overall planning for campus development.
