The SCU 2019 New Year Gala opened in the Concert Hall of Wenhua Activity Center on Wangjiang Campus on December 28. More than 300 representatives of teachers and students from various work units gathered at the scene along with thousands of SCU personnel who were watching the party live on different network platforms to say goodbye to the fruitful year 2018 and welcome the promising year 2019. Ping Cao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and chairman of the university trade union, Vice President Bin Liang, and heads of relevant departments have participated in the activity.
In her speech, Ms. Cao, on behalf of the Party, the university administration and the trade union, expresses her heartfelt thanks and New Year greetings to all the faculty members who have contributed to the development of Sichuan University on all fronts in the past year. After reviewing the gratifying achievements of the school in 2018, Ms. Cao implores all to make greater contributions, in the capacity of a Sichuan University builder, to the school with greater enthusiasm and energy in the new year.
