SCU Wins Three Prizes at NIET Annual Convention and Exhibition

The 12th National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program for Undergraduate Students Annual Convention and Exhibition was held October 12th and 13th at Zhejiang University of Technology. Relevant leaders and invited experts from the Ministry of Education, more than 1,000 teachers, students and enterprise representatives from nearly 300 universities across the country gathered together to exhibit and learn about new achievements of innovation and entrepreneurship, exploring new paths of innovation and entrepreneurship education. This annual convention and exhibition displayed 445 excellent projects which included 188 academic papers, 205 demonstration projects, 51 entrepreneurship recommendation projects. Six projects of Sichuan University have been chosen for exchange or demonstration at the annual convention. Sichuan University ranks the first place nationwide in terms of the number of projects selected for this annual convention/exhibition.

Besides, SCU has won “Excellent Thesis Award", "Best Entrepreneurship Project Award" and "Excellent Organization Award", which is an all time best performance of Sichuan University. The entrepreneurship project of "artificial bone core" was used for a discussion session at the closing ceremony. “

The academic paper "The origin of high voltage electrical properties of KNN based ceramics - multiphase coexistence and domain structure" by Xixi Sun, Class 2015 of School of Material Science and Engineering, won the "Excellent Paper Award" after a 15-minute field defense. As the result of the national innovation project "Research on the relationship between the component design and temperature stability of KNN based lead-free piezoelectric ceramics", this paper has been published inJournal of Materials Chemistry A( IF = 10.73 ) with Xixi Sun as the first author.

“Artificial bone core” passed the 15-minute roadside demonstration and won “Best Entrepreneurship Project” prize. Yiqing Hu, a Class 2015 medical student of West China School of Medicine was the leader of this project. This was the only project in the group of entrepreneurship recommendation projects (of universities under the administration of the Ministry of Education) selected for a roadside demonstration at the closing ceremony.

In addition, the paper "SSDC-Densenet: low computational cost hyperspectral neural network classification based on convolutional neural network" by Yutong Bai, Class 2016 of College of Computer Science and the paper "Application of gene sequencing in the diagnosis of joint prosthesis infection" of Mingyang Li, Class 2014 of West China School of Medicine both got 15 minutes for discussion and exchange in the annual meeting. "Colaney blood purification navigator", the leader of which was Jiangle An, Class 2016 of College of Polymer Science and Engineering and "Exploration of building teaching and scientific research system based on BIM and VR technology -- Taking the main buildings of Jiang'an campus of Sichuan University as an example", the leader of which was Shengjie Qin, a Class 2014 undergraduate of College of Architecture and Environment, took part in both material object and board exhibitions.

The National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program for Undergraduate Students Annual Convention and Exhibition is hosted by the Ministry of Education. Being a top-level convention, it is one of the most influential and comprehensive meetings of the undergraduate teaching reform in China.
