The 2019 8th National Fitness Dance Competition, which was sponsored by the General Administration of Sport of China and China Aerobics Association, held its finals in Shenzhen Sports School from November 21 to 25. The SCU aerobics team won the first prize, ranking the first place for three consecutive years.
This competition has attracted nearly 5,000 contestants from 28 provinces. It is the largest sports event in terms of the geographical areas covered, the number of contestants and the age range of its contestants. After fierce competitions, the SCU team won the first place in the four competition categories of “aerobics dancing optional movements-with light equipment; aerobics dancing optional movements; aerobics national dance optional movements- with light equipment and aerobics dancing compulsory movements”. Additionally, the team has won the title of Best Costumes and the Excellent Performance Team Award, consequently being invited to give performance at the 2019 Finals Expo.
The aerobics team of Sichuan University is composed of members from different academic disciplines, which exemplifies the university’s guiding principle of "embracing all with tolerance". The team has also exhibited a teamwork spirit and the mental attitude to fight till the end in daily training and many competitions. Its winning has added to the credit of our university.
