On July 2nd, a delegation led by Kim Sung Kyung, board chairman of Woosong University, visited Sichuan University. President Yanrong Li, together with Vice President Shijing Yan and heads of relevant departments, met with the visiting guests.

President Li stressed in the meeting that Woosong University is an important partner of Sichuan University. Confucius Institute at Woosong University is the first Confucius Institute for which Sichuan University participated in the construction. Both sides have extensive and in-depth cooperation in terms of teaching, research, students exchange and joint training. I hope both sides will further strengthen exchanges and make progress together, he said.

Mr. Kim Sung Kyung noted that, the cooperation between Woosong University and Sichuan University began in 2004. In the past 15 years, SCU has developed rapidly, and has achieved fruitful results in teaching and scientific research on the global context, setting an example for Woosong University. Woosong University attaches great importance to the cooperation with SCU. The Confucius Institute at Woosong University has been awarded the title of "Advanced Confucius Institute" by the Office of Chinese Language Council International, contributing a lot to the cultural exchange between China and South Korea. During this visit, the delegation not only saw the remarkable development and progress of SCU, but also held in-depth exchanges with energetic and intelligent teachers of SCU, he said. I believe that SCU will become a world-class city as soon as possible through concerted efforts of the staff and students.
