On the afternoon of November 16th 2018, World University Construction Office ( WUCO ) held its fourth forum of staff learning and exchange in Room 3-120 of the Graduate School. Mr.Gui Yang, was the keynote speaker for the forum “From international cooperation in scientific research to the construction of first-class universities --an In-depth study of the data of SCU international cooperation paper”.
Based on data of articles, reviews and citation indexes in SCI, SSCI and A & HCI from 2008 to 2017, this report made an in-depth analysis on SCU’s research papers of international cooperation. In order to speed up the development process of international cooperative research, a transcendental development path may be needed. In order to expand the influence of international cooperation, it is necessary to improve the quality of papers, expand the number of international cooperation research, and make high-end papers bigger and stronger. Internationalization is finally reflected in the teaching level, the school's connotation development is the inevitable choice of "double first-class" construction, to return to teaching.
A lively discussion took place about the report with regard to the ethics and guidance of university ranking data, the impact of international papers and cooperation on a university’s rankings and what specific measures SCU can take, and so forth. This forum has enhanced the staff members’ understanding of international cooperation papers as well as international cooperation. Forums like this will be conducted throughout this semester at WUCO.
