The Fifth Annual Conference of ChinaLabor Economists Forum was held June 12 - 13 in the School of Economics, Sichuan University.The conference was supported by Economic Research Journal, Journal of Management World, China & World Economy, China Agricultural Economic Review and so on. Around 150 labor economists from more than 100 Chinese universities and research institutes attended the meeting.
Vice President Yao Leye of the university attended the opening ceremony, and extended a warm welcome to all experts and scholars in attendance. He hoped that the experts and scholars would offer ideas and make suggestions to promote the research work in the field of labor economics. At the same time, he also expected all the experts and scholars to continue to care about and support the development of Economics discipline of the university.
Feng Jin, chairman of the forum council and professor of the School of Economics of Fudan University, introduced the development of the forum and expressed her heartfelt thanks to Sichuan University and the School of Economics for hosting this annual meeting. Professor Jiang Yongmu, Dean of the School of Economics, Sichuan University, presided over the opening ceremony. The keynote speech was presided over by Professor Deng Xiang, associate dean of the School of Economics, Sichuan University.
Professor Zhao Yaohui of the National School of Development at Peking University gave a keynote speech on "Population Aging and Pension System Reform".
Professor Fu Shihe from the School of Economics of Xiamen University delivered a keynote report entitled “Air Pollution, Avoidance Behavior, and Residential Electricity Consumption.”
After the opening ceremony, there was the paper presentation and discussion. At the 24 sub forums, experts and scholars reported, exchanged and discussed their academic research achievements involving multiple themes.
At the closing ceremony on the afternoon of the 13th, awards were given to outstanding papers and commentators.
On the evening of the 12th, the conference held a periodical forum where experts from several periodicals made detailed introduction and in-depth exchange regarding their own preference and characteristics of articles, frontier issues of Labor Economics, writing standards of papers, etc. The forum was hosted by Professor Deng Xiang, associate dean of the School of Economics, Sichuan University.
