The 1st Asian Young Investigator Symposium on Pharmaceutical Science and 1st Young Editorial Board of the Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Science, which were sponsored by Shenyang Pharmaceutical University and West China School of Pharmacy, Sichuan University, and Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Science, have convened in our university recently.
The symposium’s theme is " New Technology and Formula of Pharmaceutical Preparations ". Experts and young scientists in the field of pharmaceutics at home and abroad are invited to make discussions on the development of pharmaceutical industry in the new era. This symposium has also attracted lots of young scholars and students of pharmaceutical science.
Professor Liangyin Chu, vice president of Sichuan University; Professor Zhonggui He, a professor of Shenyang Pharmaceutical University and editor-in-chief of AJPS; Professor Paul W. S. Heng of National University of Singapore and Professor Qin He, vice dean of West China School of Pharmacy delivered a speech respectively.
Liangyin Chu, on behalf of the university, congratulated the Symposium on its successful convening, and thanked well-known experts and young scientists from home and abroad for their support for the symposium. Firstly, he introduced the history and basic situation of our university, focusing on the achievements of SCU discipline construction.He pointed out that West China School of Pharmacy has a profound historical background and has made great contributions to the development of pharmaceutical industry and the cultivation of pharmaceutical talents in China. He hoped that this symposium would help promote the development of pharmacy and related fields and provide strong support for the construction of a first-class university and first-class disciplines in our university.
Professor Kinam Park, editor-in-chief ofJournal of Controlled Release, Professor Zhongwei Gu of Nanjing University of Technology, Professor Zhirong Zhang of West China School of Pharmacy and Professor Song Li of the University of Pittsburgh in the United States reported respectively in the main forum. Being not only comprehensive and informative, but also very forward-looking, their reports aroused great interest and inspired new thinking among the delegates. Subsequently, experts and scholars from Japan, Italy, Britain, Switzerland and China made excellent reports.
The Symposium also established Youth Forum and Graduate Forum. Young pharmacists from the industry shared and discussed the latest research progress of pharmaceutical preparations with the participants. The conference room was packed. At the same time, the 1st Young Editorial Board of the Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Science was successfully held.
This academic conference is of great significance to promote the progress of pharmaceutical science and technology, and to intensify the cooperation and communication between domestic and foreign pharmaceutical circles.
