The Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation 2021 and 2022 Awards Conference was held at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing on Feb 17. Vice Premier Liu He of the State Council attended and addressed the conference. Vice Chairman Ji Bingxuan of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and Wan Gang, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology attended the conference.
Shi Bi (academician of CAE) from the College of Biomass Science and Engineering won the 2022 HLHL Foundation “Science and Technology Innovation” award, Professor Chu Liangyin from the School of Chemical Engineering won the 2021 HLHL Foundation “Science and Technology Innovation” award, and Professor Liu Jianfeng from the College of Water Resource and Hydropower won the 2022 HLHL Foundation “Science and Technology Innovation” award (Youth Innovation).
A total of 112 outstanding scientific workers have received awards in 2021 and 2022, among which Academicians Hu Side (academician of CAE) and Lin Ming (academician of CAE) will receive the “Science and Technology Achievement” award, 66 outstanding scientific workers will receive the “Science and Technology Progress” award, and 44 will receive the “Science and Technology Innovation” award.
Shi Bi was awarded the 2022 “Science and Technology Innovation” award for his outstanding achievements and contributions in the fields of biomass processing and utilization, leather chemistry and clean technology.
Professor Chu Liangyin won the 2021 “Science and Technology Innovation” award for his outstanding achievements and contributions in the field of mass transfer and separation.
Professor Liu Jianfeng won the 2022 “Science and Technology Innovation” award (Youth Innovation) for his outstanding achievements and contributions in the field of rock mechanics and disaster prevention in deep Earth engineering disturbances.
HLHL Foundation was founded by patriotic Hong Kong financiers Shanheng Ho, Leung Kau Kui, Tian He, and Guowei Lee in 1994. Being the biggest non-governmental award foundation of science and technology, the foundation gives awards to science and technology workers who have made outstanding contribution to China’s science and technology. There are three awards “Science and Technology Achievement”, “Science and Technology Progress” and “Science and Technology Innovation”. The awards are given annually. The “Science and Technology Achievement” award is given to no more than five winners each year, and the total number of“Science and Technology Progress” and “Science and Technology Innovation”awards shall not exceed 65.
