Professor Zhang Yi of the College of Computer Science recently received a letter from B. V. Gusev, President of the Russian Academy of Engineering, congratulating him on his election as a foreign member of the Russian Academy of Engineering.
Zhang Yi graduated from the Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences with a doctorate of science in 1994. He is now director of the Intelligent Interdisciplinary Technology Research Center of Sichuan University. He has been engaged in research at the University of Sheffield, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the National University of Singapore for more than 4 years. Up to now, he has published more than 330 papers in world-class academic journals and 3 monographs in English. He wasAssociate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks, 2009 ~ 2012, and has been an associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics since 2015.He presides over the key project of big data group of the National Natural Science Foundation of China: "big data analysis method based on cognitive computing", and the major project of science and technology innovation 2030 of the Ministry of Science and Technology: "new generation cognitive neural network model", etc. What’s more, Zhang was elected an IEEE fellow for his contribution to neural network convergence theory and subspace learning in 2016, and one of the first members of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence In 2017. His honors include the first prize of Sichuan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award in 2011, the first prize of Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education in 2012, and the second prize of National Natural Science Award in 2019 for his contribution to the basic theoretical research of neural networks.
Zhang Yi started his research in intelligent medicine in 2017 and is committed to the research and development of clinical intelligent medicine products. He led his team to develop a series of intelligent medical products, such as the intelligent breast diagnosis system, intelligent lung detection system, intelligent medical image outlining system, intelligent digestive detection system, intelligent whole-body bone imaging system, intelligent ECG system, and promoted their clinical use in many hospitals across the country. For instance, the intelligent breast screening platform has served the national major livelihood project: large-scale screening of breast cancer. So far, he has published more than 70 academic papers on Intelligent Medicine and obtained more than 60 national patents.
