On June 16, SCU held a ceremony to mark the roof completion for the main structure of the advanced materials research building on Wangjiang campus. Chairman Gan Lin of the university council, President Li Yanrong, Executive Vice President Xu Weilin, Vice President Hou Taiping, Jing Bo, head of the Wuhou District government, among others, attended the ceremony.

The advanced materials research building project of Sichuan University was launched in early 2018, with a total construction area of 116,000 square meters and a total investment of 740million yuan. It is the key project of the National Development and Reform Commission(NDRC) and the project of education modernization promotion as well as the first key capital construction project by our university for the double first-class status development. The completion of the project will comprehensively enhance the scientific research facilities of the university. It will also provide a necessary condition for SCU to build a world-class polymer research center, an advanced materials innovation base and the development of biomedical engineering disciplines, boosting the scientific research, talent training and first-class discipline development of the university.
