In order to deepen the university-industry cooperation, Chairman Gan Lin of the university council led a delegation to visit Dongfang Electric Corp.(DEC) on May 20. Yu Peigen, chairman of the board of DEC, General Manager Xu Peng, director Song Zhiyuan of the board; Guo Yong, deputy secretary of the Party committee of SCU, Vice President Chu Liangyin, and heads of relevant units of both sides participated in the survey.

At the symposium, Zhang Yanjun and Chu Liangyin respectively introduced the progress of cooperation between the two sides in scientific research, achievement transformation, integration of industry and education, talent training, etc. The participants had exchanges and discussions on graduate employment, deepening scientific research and cooperation, building an innovation platform, and jointly cultivating talent.

He said that both Dongfang Electric Corp. and Sichuan University are national teams stationed by the central government in Sichuan. It is the bounden responsibility and mission of both universities and the enterprises to serve the major national strategies and promote high-quality regional development. He hoped that both sides strengthen strategic cooperation, complement each other's advantages, and make new breakthroughs in the training of first-class talent, tackling key technologies, and transforming innovative achievements, and form a new benchmark for first-class cooperation.
