On October 12, the Chinese Congress on Artificial Intelligence (CCAI 2021), which was hosted by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence and supported by Sichuan University, opened in Chengdu. Wang Fengchao, Mayor of Chengdu, Dai Qionghai, Chairman of CAAI, and President Li Yanrong of Sichuan University attended and addressed the conference. Professor Zhang Yi of the College of Computer Science, SCU presided over the conference.
As the largest, highest standard and most influential academic event in the field of artificial intelligence in China, this conference brought together nearly 100 experts, including 23 Chinese and foreign academicians, and AI leaders from well-known enterprises such as Huawei, Baidu and NetEase. There were eight thematic reports, one peak dialogue with academicians, nine forums and six simultaneous activities for participants to exchange and discuss the cutting-edge achievements, latest technological progress and future development trend of intelligent technology. It was a high-level pioneer academic event of artificial intelligence.
At the opening ceremony, President Li Yanrong delivered a speech on behalf of the university. He said that Sichuan University has had a good accumulation and solid foundation in mathematics, software and other related fields over a long period of time. In recent years, SCU has made full use of the ecology and soil of interdisciplinary integration. Being guided by "medicine +" and "information +", the university promoted the development of AI, such as the intelligent algorithms, intelligent materials, intelligent devices, intelligent manufacturing and intelligent diagnosis and treatment.
During the conference, SCU also hosted the sub forum of "intelligent medicine" and invited 7 well-known scholars from the industry to exchange and share their ideas. On the same day, the Intelligent Medicine Sub Forum attracted more than 220,000 people both online and offline, providing cutting-edge guidance and frame of reference for researchers and practitioners in the field of intelligent medicine.
