On November 3, Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation (HLHL) held its annual award ceremony of 2020 in Beijing. 52 scientists have won the award this year. Specifically, Nanshan Zhong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering(CAE), and Jinshi Fan won the Science and Technology Achievement Award, 30 scientists won the Science and Technology Progress Award, and 20 scientists won the Science and Technology Innovation Award. Ms. Qi Wang, academician of CAE, and professor of the State key Laboratory of Polymer Materials Engineering of China (Sichuan University)has won the Science and Technology Innovation Award for her phenomenal achievements and contributions to plastic processing.
An expert of plastic processing engineering, Qi Wang is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, professor and doctoral supervisor of Polymer Research Institute of Sichuan University. She is also the chief editor of Polymer Materials Science and Engineering, the International Journal SusMat, and deputy director of Expert Committee of China Plastics Processing Industry Association.Plastic processing is an important pillar industry in China. In 2019, China's plastics products amounted to 81.84 million tons, with an output value of nearly 2 trillion yuan, which ranks first in both output and consumption in the world. Prof. Wang and her team have been dedicated to the research and industrial application of new theories, new technologies and new equipment in the field of plastics processing. In light of the national demands in plastics processing, they have overcome many world problems and made outstanding contributions to the scientific and technological progress and development of China's plastics processing industry.
