SCU Team at the Fourth China College Students “Internet Plus” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition
The National Finals of the 4th China College Students’‘Internet Plus' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was held at Xiamen University from October 13th to 15th. Five projects from Sichuan University (SCU) have won prizes. Three projects have received a gold medal and two projects a silver medal. And Sichuan University has beenawarded the prize of “Advanced Work Unit” again. SCU shares the third place (with another university) on the gold medal list. And the project “Pay Guarantee”garnered a contract with“Creative YoungCommunity”.

Chinese vice-premier SUN Chunlan, who is a member of the CPC politburo, visited the “Innovation Exhibition” of the Fourth China College Students’ ‘Internet Plus’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, extending her congratulations and support to prize winning teams and universities. She also had a talk with SCU gold medal teams while reviewing the prize winning projects of Sichuan University.

During the ‘Internet Plus’ competition, an award ceremony was conducted to recognize excellent short video films onMy Story of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. SCU won two of the five first prizes and one third prize in the category of video films and one second prize in the category of essays.
In recent years, Sichuan University has implemented the “Sichuan University Reform Action Plan of Innovation and Entrepreneurship”, focusing on developing independent thinking, innovative and entrepreneurial skills, teamwork ideology and social responsibility in students. As a result, SCU has won a total of 10 gold medals from all four ‘Internet Plus’ competitions, a second place on the gold medal list. In addition, SCU has been awarded the prize of “Advanced Work Unit” for four consecutive years.
It is reported that this competition has attracted the most participants, and the number of projects and the number of participants have increased by 70 percent. All colleges, universities and all the different majors have presence in this competition. During the seven months of the competition, 2.65 million college students of 640,000 teams from 2,278 Chinese universities and more than 600 teams from over 50 countries have competed for various prizes. This competition has become the most influential and prestigious summit of innovation and entrepreneurship in China.
