On the afternoon of April 28th, the signing ceremony of a cooperative agreement to construct a technology cross and transformation center between Sichuan University and the people's government of Wuhou District was held in the VIP Hall of Mingde Building, Wangjiang Campus. Zhihong Zhu, deputy secretary of the Chengdu Municipal Party Committee, Min Wu, deputy director of the standing committee of the Municipal People's Congress and secretary of the Wuhou District Party Committee, Li Lin, district head of Wuhou District, Jianguo Wang, chairman of SCU university council, SCU President Yanrong Li, and Vice President Rongjun Li, attended the signing ceremony. Ming Jiang, deputy head of Wuhou District and Vice President Weilin Xu signed the contract on behalf of the two parties. Leaders of Chengdu city government, Wuhou District and relevant departments, and leaders of SCU relevant departments attended the signing ceremony. The signing ceremony was presided over by SCU Vice President Zhi Tu and the deputy secretary-general of Chengdu Municipal Government.
Li Lin introduced about the Technology Cross and Transformation Center for New Economy at the signing ceremony. Technology Cross and Transformation Center for New Economy is an important cooperative project between Wuhou District and SCU in accordance with the principle of "co-construction, co-management and sharing". It is also an exemplar of implementing the new economic development strategy of the municipal Party Committee and the municipal government. The project is close to Moziqiao, with a total investment of about 735 million yuan, and an area of 78,400 square meters. The city and SCU will strive to complete this project and put it into operation within two years. The project will integrate Wuhou District development plan of service industry based on scientific research and development and the SCU development path of "industrial reform", focusing on new economic fields such as digital economy, intelligent economy and green economy. This project will gather a team of high-end talents and construct a group of transformation platforms. It will also develop a team of professionals to carry out interdisciplinary research in artificial intelligence, network technology and intelligent manufacturing. Being devoted to research projects with industrialization application prospects, this project is of great significance for bridging the "last mile" between university laboratories to enterprises and markets, turning scientific and technological achievements into products.
