Sichuan University (SCU) signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Nuclear Power Institute of China (NPIC) on the morning of April 10.

Relevant leaders of Sichuan Province and SCU attended and witnessed the signing of the contract. At the signing ceremony, Zhengpu Wang, head of the Organization Department of the provincial Party Committee; President Yanrong Li of SCU, and Gang Wan, Party Secretary of NPIC made speeches respectively.

Both sides have agreed that the strategic cooperation agreement is based on long-term friendly cooperation. It is in line with the principle of "complementary advantages, equal cooperation, mutual benefit and win-win results, and common development". The focus of the agreement is on promoting local economic development and technological progress through personnel training and scientific and technological cooperation. The cooperation between the two sides will give full play to SCU advantages in basic scientific research and personnel training in the fields of nuclear science and technology, material science and engineering, nuclear medicine and isotopes, mechanical engineering, artificial intelligence and other disciplines. The two sides will set up a joint research platform to carry out basic research and innovation, conduct forward-looking research on major national and industrial technological needs, and strengthen cooperation in talent training.
