On the morning of April 14, a press conference was held for a 5G cloud computing COVID-19 testing and intelligent analysis system in the International Academic Exchange Center, Sichuan University (SCU). Lin Zhang, on behalf of SCU, welcomed everyone in attendance at the press conference. He said that SCU has undertaken 56 emergency research projects on COVID-19 by fully integrating the strength of multidisciplinary research platform since the COVID-19 outbreak. Several research achievements, including the 5G+ remote CT scanning system, have been put in use at the front line of epidemic prevention and control. Recently, the SCU research team has successfully set up the COVID-19 testing and intelligent analysis system on the basis of "5G translational medicine service platform" and "medicine + information". The project team will select application scenarios for testing. He said that SCU will continue to give full play to the advantages of multi-disciplinary and cross innovation teams, promote scientific and technological innovation and achievement transformation, and contribute to the improvement of China's ability in response to major public health emergencies.

It is reported that the 5G COVID-19 testing and intelligent analysis system is the world’s first high-tech product that uses COVID-19 biochips and integrate information technology such as Internet of things, big data, artificial intelligence, cloud computing and so on. It can test target populations for immunity in different places (Airport and bus station security checkpoints, large-scale event security checks, community and individual self inspections, etc.), and analyze the data through artificial intelligence technology, so as to provide technical support for the final solution of the COVID-19 pandemic. The system enables tests to be carried out at different locations so as to prevent the occurrence of cross infection. The tests are convenient and fast, with high accuracy. Besides, the data is automatically uploaded to a designated national platform.
