On June 19-20, the final of the Fifth Sichuan Province UniversityTeaching Competition for Young Teachers was held at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC).Dongzhi Yuan, SCU's West China School of Basic Medical Sciences and Forensic Medicine; Jianing Tuo, College of Literature and Journalism won the first prize; Xiaolan Chen and four others of the School of Economics; Rui Peng of the School of Life Sciences won the second prize. Dongzhi Yuan, the first prize winner of the Medical Sciences Group will take part in the NationalUniversity Teaching Competition for Young Teachers on behalf of universities in Sichuan Province.

This year, nine teachers from our university have been shortlisted for the final of the Sichuan Province University Teaching Competition for Young Teachers. After the comprehensive assessment of 15 teaching designs, on-the-spot teaching and teaching reflection of the participating teachers, the participating teachers of our university have obtained excellent results, fully demonstrating the demeanor and teaching ability of the SCU young teachers.
Being held once every two years, this has been the fifth Competition of Sichuan Province. Since the competition was launched in mid- March, it has attracted over 10,000 young teachers from 116 universities in the province to participate in the competition, which is a record high.
