From December 18 to 20, the finals of the first China Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition were held in Foshan, Guangdong Province. Zhang Jinan, Minister of Human Resources and Social Security, among other leaders, attended the competition. Postdoctoral students of our university won two gold, one silver and three bronze (see the figure below for details), ranking second among the universities that dispatched individual competition teams. Moreover, our university also won the Excellent Organization Award of the competition.
The theme of this competition is "collect science and technology essence, lead future development via innovation". The competition consists of four groups, namely, innovation, entrepreneurship, overseas (overseas Chinese) and free draw competitions. There were about 1,400 projects in the finals. The competition took the form of road shows and oral defense, coupled with live competition and online cloud competition. Our university participated in the innovation competition and entrepreneurship competition, and won two gold and two bronze in the innovation track, and one silver and one bronze in the entrepreneurship track.
SCU attaches great importance to the first China Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, and has organized 40 innovation and entrepreneurship teams and more than 120 postdoctoral fellows to participate. After the preliminary competition at the university, 23 teams were selected to participate in the finals, and experts inside and outside the university were hired to carry out intensive training.
The finals focused on young scientific and technological talent, bringing together more than 2,000 postdoctoral fellows at home and abroad to compete, learn and exchange on the same stage. The competition also set up an achievements exhibition hall to showcase the postdoctoral innovation achievements of different universities, provinces and cities.
