It was a big night at the gymnasium of Jiangan Campus November 10th 2018. The 2018 SCU new students reception and the award ceremony to recognize the top ten students unions and top ten students associations took place here.
Highlights of the reception this year
Highlight One: A big gala of students from all over the country
Besides the 2018 SCU freshman classes, cadres of Sichuan Student Federation, Chengdu Student Federation, students unions of other universities in Sichuan Province have also attended this gala. Students from 32 colleges have given wonderful performances.
What needs to be mentioned here is that Miss An Yaning of Ukraine, who studies at SCU College of Overseas Education, is one of the emcees. Being charming and graceful, she has won over many fans.
Ethnic minority students are an important part of tonight’s reception. The dances brought by the students of Yi, Uygur, Tibetan and Kazakh nationalities are enthusiastic and brilliant.

The small happy things on campus converge to make the SCU dream a likely reality. In reviewing the prospects and opportunities of our motherland, we have come to realize that the Chinese dream is no longer something beyond our reach.
At the reception, names of SCU 2017-2018 “Top Ten Students Unions” and “Top Ten Students Associations” were announced, and awards were presented.
College of Literature and Journalism, Business School, College of Foreign Languages and Cultures, School of History & Culture, College of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, West China School of Public Health, School of Manufacturing Science and Engineering, West China School of Pharmacy, College of Water Resource & Hydropower, and College of Computer Science were named the 2017-2018 “Top Ten Students Unions”.
In addition, Sichuan University Psychology Association, SCU Science Fiction Association, Public Speech and Exchange Association, Voluntary Conservationist Association, XiaoXiao Crosstalk Club, Action-Knowledge Association, New Great Wall SCU Self-Improvement Society, Feiyang Club, Thunder Storm Drama Society, and Guzheng Association were honored as the 2017-2018 “Top Ten Students Associations”.
Vice President Xiangcheng Li and others presented the awards to the winners of “Top Ten Students Unions” and “Top Ten Students Associations”.
