Recently,“Singapore-Sichuan innovative medical science & technology practice and application,”an industry-university-research exchange activity jointly sponsored by Enterprise Singapore and West China Hospital of Sichuan University (WCH of SCU) was jointly held by West China Medicine Technology Transfer Center and Bioinformatics Society of Sichuan Province at WCH’s 5G Remote Exchange Center.
This meeting focused on two major themes:“Medical Science and Technology Innovation Contributes to Preventing and Controlling Infectious Diseases”and“AI-aided Diagnosis and Treatment”. The participating experts shared information on international cutting-edge technologies and development trends, and discussed application status and cooperation opportunities.
During the event, Xu Dafen, Deputy Director of Enterprise Singapore, introduced the general situation of Singapore’s biomedical ecosystem, innovative responses to pandemic challenges, and its efforts to help enterprises in development and innovation. She hoped that this exchange activity will promote the joint R&D and cooperative innovation between Singapore and Sichuan, especially with West China Hospital, in medical science and technology.
While underscoring the importance of international health cooperation in the post-pandemic era, Deputy Party Secretary Luo Fengming noted that Singapore, with one of the largest biomedical industry clusters in Asia, has gathered abundant R&D resources and technologies, and WCH is looking forward to in-depth exchanges and cooperation with various medical institutions, universities and innovative enterprises from Singapore. Also, he introduced WCH’s work in international cooperation and exchanges, as well as the transfer and transformation of sci-tech achievements during the pandemic.
At the meeting, experts from China and Singapore discussed topics such as innovation during the COVID-19 pandemic, transformational informatics, bioinformatics, information security, AI and digital innovation in ophthalmology.
