Li Yanrong, on behalf of the university, welcomed Consul General Chen Ziqin and his party. After briefly introducing the basic situation of the university, he said that SCU is always committed to the principle of opening up its education and constantly improves its internationalization. In particular, both the SCU University Immersion Program(UIP) and the Dachuan Vision are aimed at broadening students' international horizons. Sichuan University always attaches great importance to the exchange and cooperation with the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University and other high-level universities in Singapore. In the post-pandemic era especially, Singapore universities are one batch of the important international partners of Chinese universities including Sichuan University. He hoped that both sides would further strengthen cooperation in talent training, high-level talent exchange and basic scientific research.

Chen Ziqin expressed his gratitude to the university for its warm reception and briefly introduced the Singapore Consulate General in Chengdu. He said that SCU has a long history and has achieved fruitful results. It has a close cooperative relationship with universities in Singapore and has had good results. The Consulate General of Singapore in Chengdu is willing to deepen the cooperation between Sichuan University and the universities of Singapore, better promote practical cooperation between the two sides, and contribute to youth exchanges and scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries.
