Chiral compounds are closely related to life science, human health and materials science. Asymmetric catalysis is one of the most effective and important synthetic ways to obtain chiral compounds. Xiaoming Feng focuses his research primarily on the asymmetric organic synthesis of catalysts, involving the design and synthesis of chiral catalysts, the asymmetric synthesis reaction and the application of these chiral catalysts to the synthesis of chiral drug molecules.HLHL Foundation was founded by patriotic Hong Kong financiers Shanheng Ho, Kau Kui Leung, Tian He, and Quo-wei Lee in 1994. Being the biggest non-governmental award foundation of science and technology, the foundation gives awards to science and technology workers who have made outstanding contribution to China’s science and technology. There are three awards “Scientific and Technological Achievement”, “Scientific and Technological Progress” and “Scientific and Technological Innovation”. The awards are given annually.HLHL Foundation awards up to five scientists the Prize for Scientific and Technological Achievement, with a prize money in the amount of one million Hong Kong dollars each. It also presents a combined total of 65 prizes for both Scientific and Technological Progress and Scientific and Technological Innovation, with a prize money of 200,000 Hong Kong dollars respectively.
