On the morning of April 21, Sichuan Province held a meeting in Chengdu to announce the list of winners for 2019 Sichuan Province Science and Technology Progress Award. 244 projects received 2019 Sichuan Province Science and Technology Progress Awards. Sichuan University prize winners and Vice-President Liangyin Chu attended the meeting on behalf of Sichuan University.

SCU has won a total of 27 Sichuan Province Science and Technology Progress Awards, including 14 first prizes (SCU led 11 of the 14 projects). The 14 first prizes consist of three first prizes in the category of natural science (SCU let two of the projects), one first prize in the category of technological invention and ten first prizes in the category of science and technology progress (SCU led eight of the ten projects.)
