According to the university requirements to carry out measures to improve and make up for weaknesses, the World Class University Construction Office (WUCO) has served as a leader in an in-depth analysis of individual academic subjects and worked out a research report on how to make up for the weaknesses based upon improvement measures of individual academic subjects. This is for the reference of university leaders and relevant departments.

The analysis has revealed that “Quality of Talent Cultivation” is the weakest link in the university’s discipline consturction, with 29 academic subjects being below the overall level in their respective fields. “Scientific Research Level” is the second weakest link. SCU has 26 academic subjects that perform below the overall level of their respective fields. The third is “Faculty and Resources”. 23 SCU academic subjects perform below the overall level. In terms of “Social Services and Disciplines’Reputations”, nine academic subjects fall below the overall level. It is said that the fifth discipline assessment and evaluation will still focus on “Quality of Talent Cultivation,” and conduct subjective evaluations based upon objective facts. Given that, it is urgent for individual academic subjects to center around “talent cultivation” and adopt effective measures to make up for weaknesses.
