On May, 19th 2023, SCUPI Enterprise Open Day was successfully held. Ms. Junhong Xu, the Director for China Public Affairs & Education, Corporate Social Responsibilities, Intel; Ms. Yupei Liu, Specialist for Higher Education, Intel; Mr. Kun Yin, Training and Talent Development Specialist, Volvo Chengdu; Ms. Yan Chen, Recruiting Specialist, Volvo Chengdu visited SCUPI and attended the Senior Project Symposium 2023.
Dr. TZ Mai, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. James Lee, Associate Dean for Research, Dr. Ye Li, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs; Three Major Coordinators, Dr. Jin Xu, Dr. Yang Liu and Dr. Shan Gong, ME professor, Dr. John Pien, Dr. Dong Liang, Director for Lab Services, Ms. Michelle Xue, Career Advisor together attended the meeting with enterprise representatives.
In order to deepen the quality of talent cultivation and expand the resources of Institute-enterprise cooperation, the Institute members and enterprise representatives discussed the opportunities including but not limited to internship and employment, research cooperation, as well as actively promoted the next step of cooperation with the actual needs of both sides, striving to provide more resources and support for the growth of SCUPIANS.
After the meeting, Intel and Volvo team were invited to attend the Senior Project Symposium 2023 at Jiang’an Gym. During the Expo, they interacted with SCUPI seniors, raising questions, discussing possible solutions, taking photos and voting for the best teams. They provided high recognition of SCUPI graduate in terms of their confidence, critical thinking, creativity, problem solving and teamwork capabilities.
Sichuan University-Pittsburgh Institute will continue to encourage students to take the initiative to go beyond the campus, expand their views and develop skills from social practice, and help the SCUPIANS to become engineers with a strong sense of mission and responsibility in the future.
