On September 24, the 2022 Summit of the National Center of Stomatology(NCS) was held online. Over 120,000 people viewed the event online.
The summit consists of one main forum and four sub forums, namely, "Forum on the Development of Operative Dentistry and Endodontics", "Forum on the Development of Prosthodontics", "Forum on the Development of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery", and "Forum on Clinical Medical Research and Digital Transformation of Oral Diseases". The organizers invited three academicians in the field of stomatology, two academicians in the field of digitalization and materials science, and 30 top experts in the stomatology industry to discuss the latest concepts, technologies, and cutting-edge progress in stomatology through keynote reports, thematic sharing, round table discussions, etc. They would work together to plan the high-quality development path of stomatology and aid the innovation and development of stomatology in China.
At the opening ceremony of the conference, President Li Yanrong, on behalf of the university, congratulated on the opening of the summit. He said that SCU is following the strategy of "medicine+" and "information+", drawing upon interdisciplinary integration, and building a first-class highland of stomatology research, diagnosis and treatment. Jiao Yahui, director of the Medical Administration of the National Health Commission, hoped that the National Center of Stomatology would give full play to the facilities of great importance, continue to drive the high-quality development of the national stomatology industry. He also provided important guidance on how to develop the NCS in the next step. Ye Ling, the rotating chairman of NCS and President of West China School of Stomatology (West China Hospital of Stomatology), pointed out that the three main work units of NCS will continue to strengthen cooperation, further implement the functional orientation of the center, lead and drive the development of national stomatology, and assist the "healthy China" strategy.
At the main forum, experts of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and top universities made wonderful reports on six themes, namely, the development and research of innovative technologies in maxillofacial surgery, the important role of nitrate in the prevention and treatment of systemic diseases, the research and development and transformation of autonomous dental implant robots, the application and prospects of additive manufacturing in dentistry, the digital application of stomatology, and the research and achievement transformation of oral degradable magnesium alloy films.
At the sub forums, 30 top experts from the West China Hospital of Stomatology of Sichuan University, Peking University Hospital of Stomatology, the Ninth People's Hospital of Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine, the Hospital of Stomatology Wuhan University and so forth spoke on and discussed the development of oral medicine digital technology, intelligent biomaterials, multidisciplinary joint diagnosis and treatment Excellent academic reports and exchanges were made on the establishment of precision orthognathic surgery system and other frontier research hotspots.
This summit is not only a concentrated display of the latest research achievements in the field of stomatology, but also a collision of ideas and a gathering of wisdom, which has further promoted the high-quality development of NCS, the development of stomatology and the construction of a healthy China.
