On the morning of July 12, 2024, Dr. Edilio Mazzoleni, envoy of the Rector andInternational Development Area Managerof the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart(CUSH) visited SCU. Pu Shilu, deputy director of the International Office/Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office of SCU, Professor Zhao Qijun, associate dean of the College of Computer Science, Professor Wu Meng, associate dean of the Business School, Professor Liu Yan from the College of Life Sciences, Professor Liu Na of the College of Literature and Journalism, Professor Chen Yanwen of the College of Biomedical Engineering, among others, participated in the discussion on the future cooperation and student exchange plans between Sichuan University and the CUSH.
The CUSH representatives briefly introduced their university's overview, advantageous disciplines, campus environment, scientific research, student training, and so on at the meeting. It was proposed that the two universities can carry out 3+2 undergraduate and master's programs or 1+2 master's dual degree cooperation in common disciplines. The Italian university also gave a detailed introduction of course instruction in English as well as winter and summer camp courses, hoping to promote deeper cooperation and communication between the two universities through this meeting. Pu Shilu welcomed Dr. Edilio Mazolani and his delegation. She then briefly described SCU's international cooperation situation including the cooperation with Italy. She hoped that both sides could expand the cooperation in disciplines such as arts, science, engineering, and medicine. During the free discussion session, the responsible persons of relevant colleges had in-depth discussions and communications with the CUSH representatives on issues such as student training mode, academic system, curriculum, future development, and specific details of cooperation projects. Dr. Edilio Mazzoleni and Prof. Giovanni Gambasi responded to the above issues one by one and looked forward to strengthening cooperation and communication between the two universities through student exchange.
