On December 3, Dongfang Electric Corporation (DEC) and Sichuan University held a meeting on deepening cooperation and exchange in Mingde building, Wangjiang campus. Chairman Yu Peigen of DEC, Chairman Wang Jianguo of the university council of SCU and heads of relevant units of both sides attended the exchange forum. The meeting was chaired by Chu Liangyin.
On behalf of the university, Wang Jianguo extended welcome to Yu Peigen and his delegation and thanked DEC for its long standing support and help. He said that both SCU and DEC are important national scientific and technological forces and shoulder the important mission of cultivating high-level talent, undertaking major national tasks and leading the development of national scientific and technological innovation. He hoped that the two sides can build on the previous cooperation achievements, and further expand cooperation around the major strategic needs of the country, and carry out various cooperations in major basic research, scientific and technological frontier research, the tackling of key scientific and technological problems, advanced technology transformation and achievement implementation.
In his speech, Yu Peigen thanked SCU for its long-term support and help in talent, science and technology, and looked forward to further intensifying cooperation between the two sides. He said that DEC gives high priority to the cooperation with Sichuan University. The talent and scientific and technological advantages of Sichuan University are urgently needed by DEC. He hoped that the two sides will further establish a good cooperation mechanism, broaden cooperation methods and fields, and carry out more efficient and pragmatic cooperation at a higher level.
At the meeting, participants had discussions and exchanged ideas on cooperation in the fields of smart energy, carbon neutralization, non-interference extraction of medium and deep geothermal energy. They also discussed deepening cooperation with DEC in terms of key innovations during the 14th five-year plan.
