On October 26, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security [No. 84,2021] announced the "sixth batch of national outstanding professional and technical talent". Feng Xiaoming, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and professor of the College of Chemistry, SCU was selected as the "sixth batch of national outstanding professional and technical talent".
Feng Xiaoming is a famous organic chemist in China. He has been engaged in asymmetric synthesis methodology and the synthesis of chiral medicine, pesticides and bioactive compounds for a long time.In the academic circle, the first thing that comes to mind when people hear the name Feng Xiaoming is Roskamp-Feng reaction. Prof. Feng Xiaoming and his team used a special N,N’-dioxide-Sc(OTF)3chiral ligands (0.05 mol %) to realize the first case of asymmetric Roskamp reaction in 2010. Elsevier listed this reaction in its 3rd edition of Organic Syntheses Based on Name Reactions in 2011. This is an organic chemical reaction named after a Chinese scientist who works in mainland China.
Feng Xiaoming has made outstanding contributions to the invention of new catalysts and reactions, which have provided a new approach to the synthesis of organic molecules, especially drug molecules.
The Chinese names begin with family name in this report.
