On February 26, Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology Jiangping Wang and his delegation came to our university for investigation. Mr. Wang and his delegation visited the SCU Science and Technology Achievements Exhibition Hall, Education Reform and Innovation Exhibition Hall and the State Key Laboratory of Polymer Materials Engineering to learn about Sichuan University’s achievements in technological innovation, transformation of research achievements, talent cultivation, and education of innovation and entrepreneurship and so on. President Yanrong Li, vice presidents Weilin Xu and Lin Zhang and heads of SCU relevant departments escorted the delegation during their investigation and survey.
At the Science and Technology Achievements Exhibition Hall, Liangyin Chu, director of SCU Science and Technology Development Research Institute, Academician Xingdong Zhang, a leading researcher at theNational Engineering Research Center for Biomaterials (Sichuan University), Academician Yuquan Wei of the State Key Laboratory of Biotherapy (Sichuan University) introduced SCU science and technology innovations to Vice Minister Jiangping Wang. Vice Minister Jiangping Wang had inquired carefully about SCU technological innovation and industrial application in the fields of biological materials, innovative drugs and industrial Internet, and highly affirmed the achievements of the school's technological innovation.
At the Education Reform and Innovation Exhibition Hall, Director Hongwei Zhang of Education Administration introduced to Vice Minister Jiangping Wang SCU reform of education and teaching and the education of innovation and entrepreneurship. Vice Minister Jiangping Wang focused on the various initiatives of "innovation and entrepreneurship" education in the university, and highly acclaimed the achievements of SCU in personnel training, especially in "innovation and entrepreneurship" education.
In the State Key Laboratory of Polymer Materials Engineering, Guangxian Li, the director of the laboratory, and leaders of relevant scientific research teams introduced to Vice Minister Jiangping Wang the scientific and technological innovation of the laboratory.
In the course of the investigation and survey, President Yanrong Li especially introduced to Vice Minister Jiangping Wang the achievements of the school in the fields of innovative medicine, industrial Internet, new material research and development, and the scientific research layout of the university in the future key areas, focusing on "medical +" and "information +". Vice Minister Wang spoke highly of the progress that Sichuan University had made in technological innovation, the education of innovation and entrepreneurship and the transformation of scientific research achievements and their applications in industry in particular.
