The finals of the "Fengming Sichuan University" Campus Top 10 Singers Competition and the award ceremony of the "Phoenix Spreads its Wings" Sichuan University Cultural and Art Festival were held on the Wangjiang Campus recently. 12 teams stood out from more than 200 participating teams, singing in praise of youth. They brought a wonderful and unparalleled audio-visual feast to the audience.
12 colleges of Sichuan University have been awarded the honor of "Advanced Collective" during the 2023 Cultural and Art Festival of "Phoenix Spreads its Wings". The first prize is awarded to the Arts College, College of Literature and Journalism (School of Journalism, School of Publishing). The second prize is awarded to the School of Public Administration, School of Architecture and Environment, School of History and Culture (School of Tourism, School of Archaeology and Cultural Heritage), West China School of Basic Medical Sciences and Forensic Medicine (West China Hospital), and the third prize is awarded to the West China University of Public Health (West China Fourth Hospital), School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, College of Foreign Languages and Cultures, West China School of Stomatology, School of Life Sciences, and School of Mechanical Engineering.
The original song "Youth at Sichuan University" meticulously crafted by the Xiaochuan Network Culture Studio was first performed at the finals. Liu Zixuan from the College of Polymer Science and Engineering, Wu Hao from the Cyber Science Research Institute, and Zhou Jiamin from the Arts College opened the competition with melodious singing, showcasing the youthful style of students at Sichuan University.
In the first round of collaborative song competition, contestants performed the same song in pairs. The melodies of Rewrite the Stars, and Lovers in the World are melodious and rich in emotion. The song A Smile over the Sea has a heroic style and free spirited lyrics, showcasing an open-minded attitude towards life and a philosophical reflection on life. The rhythm of Climbing is strong, inspirational, urging every dream chaser to constantly move forward in adversity and bravely climb to new heights. "Summer Light Year" enables people to recall their beautiful memories of youth and look forward to a bright future.
Li Xiayi, the gold medalist of the Sichuan University Staff Singer Competition and faculty member of the West China School of Stomatology, passionately sang a song called Mayila Variations during the halftime session, which had a smooth melody and received continuous applause from the audience.
In the second round of individual repertoire competition, contestants showcased their strengths and exhibited their skills, putting on a fierce music competition. The contestants sang heartily on stage, while the audience below cheered on excitedly.
After being evaluated by a panel of professional judges and public rating, Wang Jingxi from the Arts College and Yan Jingyuan from the School of History and Culture excelled and won the gold medal. The silver medal went to Wu Tingyao, Sun Yiluo. Wang Jingxi won the Best Popularity Award by the audience.
The "Fengming Sichuan University" Campus Top Ten Singers Competition showcases the spirit of youth through the songs of youth, and recorded touching moments in youth regarding dreams, friendship, and love.
