The Organization Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Chinese Association of Science and Technology and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League have jointly announced the winners of the 16th China YouthScience and Technology Award. Prof. Ling Ye of West China School/Hospital of Stomatology, SCU has won the award this year.

Focusing on the two core technical problems of “pulp repair and regeneration and periapical bone defect repair”, they have systematically studied the molecular regulatory mechanism of bone / tooth repair and regeneration, and revealed the important role of epigenetics and energy metabolism in the fate selection of mesenchymal stem cells, which has potential value for the treatment of bone and dental diseases.
The China Youth Science and Technology Award was established in 1987 on the proposal of Xuesen Qian(Hsue-Shen TSIEN), Guangya Zhu and other scientists of the older generation. The award is given out every two years to no more than 100 recipients each time.
