This spring, Oxford University Press and West China Hospital’s joint English-language journal Precision Clinical Medicine (PCM) was officially launched online.

Precision Clinical Medicine is an international, peer-reviewed periodical, open-access journal that publishes original research articles, case reports, reviews, editorials and perspectives on all aspects in the field of precision medicine in a timely manner. By doing so, the journal aims to provide new theories, methods, and evidence for disease diagnosis, treatment, prevention and prognosis, so as to establish a communication platform for clinicians and researchers.

PCM’s editor-in-chief Professor Weimin Li of SCU’s West China Hospital explained that West China Hospital has drawn out a 10-year strategy to develop the field of precision medicine; they are very pleased to jointly publish this journal with Oxford University Press. Li sees the journal as an important platform for reporting on the latest developments of precision medicine and related research on clinical applications.

Rhodri Jackson, Editorial Director, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Asia Journals at Oxford University Press, congratulated West China Hospital on the ambitious launch of a high-quality periodical in the field of precision medicine. In light of an excellent, high-level editorial board and other significant preparatory work, the publication is one of great promise: with the sincere cooperation of Oxford UP and West China Hospital, PCM is destined to become a leading scholarly journal in the field of precision medicine, Jackson said.

The online scientific news service EurekaAlert! (a platform sponsored by the American Association for the Advancement of Science) on April 30th announced the launch of the journal.
