It is difficult to predict the change of the posterior type of the total jaw implant in patients with severe periodontitis. In their article, the authors introduce an innovative digital method to predict the profile after the restoration. After simulating the patient's satisfactory face shape, the digital process completes the operation and repair, rendering an accurate and satisfactory treatment. This has been the very first time to introduce the three-dimensional changes of the face into the field of prosthodontics, which is of great significance for designing preoperative treatment plans for severe periodontitis patients.
