During the period of epidemic prevention and control, prevention and control work at school gates is very important. The SCU Security Office works hard at the front line to monitor the health of people and sterilize vehicles returning to the university.
A security guard is sterilizing a car with a disinfector at the entrance.
The " power electronic transformation and control team " that researcher Zhiming He belongs to came up with the scheme of " inductive vehicle disinfector ". Combined with the vehicle detection system at the school gate, this automatic system could spray and sterilize vehicles at the entrance so as to ensure safety and enable vehicles to qucikly enter the university, alleviating the pressure of epidemic prevention and control. With the help of the reseach team of Professor Qun Zhou and Associate Professor Lihua Zhao, He’s research team investigated the requirements and did a field test. Then, they worked around the clock and produced the new system. Four sets of the system were eventually installed and put to use at the four university gates on March 13. This was a device that had been developed in response to the call of China’s Ministryof Science and Technology. It exemplified the guiding principle of “ write research papers at the front line of epidemic prevention and control, and make research results serve the purpose of epidemic combat ".
On site installation and disinfection effect
Leaders of the Security Office and heads of College of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology went to the site to learn about the actual effect of the device. They exchanged ideas about cooperation in terms of campus security and the application of information technology in the university management.
