Editor's note: This report analyzes indicators such as the campus land area, building area, the number and demographic makeup of students, the per capita occupation areas of study, life, and scientific research, and compares SCU's data with those of the top Chinese universities (Peking University and Tsinghua University), benchmark Chinese universities (Wuhan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Sun Yat-Sen University and Xi’an Jiaotong University) and benchmark foreign universities (Seoul National University, University of Birmingham, University of Pittsburgh). In the meantime, we also benchmark against the “Building Area Index of Institutions of Higher Education” (191-2018) by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the National Development and Reform Commission. This report can be used as a reference in campus planning and design.
