On December 28, 2017, the Academic Degrees & Graduate Education Development Center (CDGDC) of the Chinese Ministry of Education released the results of the fourth national evaluation of first-tier academic subjects. This report introduces and analyzes the overall performance of Sichuan University (SCU) in four categories of evaluation and puts forward suggestions for academic subjects development. The report consists of five parts: First, an overview of performance of SCU in the four evaluation categories; second, comparison of SCU performances between the third and the fourth evaluations; third, analysis of SCU academic subjects’ performances in liberal arts, natural sciences, engineering and medicine; fourth, comparison of SCU and other universities under the construction of “Double First-Class” status; fifth, suggestions for academic subjects development at SCU.
