The Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance and National Development and Reform Commission issued a joint announcement “Names of universities under the construction of first-class university status and academic subjects under the construction of first-class academic subject status” on September 21, 2017. Since then, a great deal of work has been done at universities. By December 2017, individual universities had publicized their construction plans respectively. To help promote the construction at Sichuan University, we have studied and analyzed the construction programs at other universities. Based on our study and analysis, we have put forward specific suggestions regarding the construction of “double first-class” status at Sichuan University.
