On April 21, the university held an inaugural ceremony for Sichuan University Classics Exhibition Hall on the occasion of the 17th Sichuan University Reading Culture Festival in the Sichuan University Library, marking the official opening of Sichuan University Classics Exhibition Hall, which is the first of such an exhibition hall nationwide. Vice President Yao Leye and leaders of the publicity department attended the ceremony.

Yao Leye and Dang Yuewu, director of the Academic Affairs office, jointly unveiled the plaque for the exhibition hall.

The Sichuan University Library is the largest and oldest library in western China. Being situated on the third floor of the Wenli Library, the exhibition hall measures 162 square meters. Readers can envision the past glories while appreciating the 100 and plus items on view in the exhibition hall, travelling back in time. Being made up of nine sections, the exhibition hall houses a large variety of both Chinese and foreign classics, showcasing the cultural deposits of a prestigious university with a history of over 120 years.

After the ceremony, Dang Yuewu showed the attendees around and introduced the configuration and exhibits in the exhibition hall.
