Recently, the fourth "Young Scholars' Academic Conference of State Key Laboratory of Polymer Science" convened in our university. Vice Chairman Xufeng Li of the university council, Jin Ma, Director of Organic Polymer Material Subject, National Natural Science foundation of China, Academician Yuzhong Wang and Academician Qi Wang of State Key Laboratory of Polymer Material Engineering (Sichuan University) attended the meeting. Among the one hundred or so attendees were heads of various state key laboratories of polymer science, senior professors and outstanding young scholars.
With polymer material and engineering as its theme, this conference consisted of two sections: reports and exchange by young scholars of six state key laboratories and reports by special guests and outstanding young scholars. This conference had 2 conference reports, 8 reports by special guests, 17 reports by invited keynote speakers and 43 wall newspapers.
Director Guangxian Li of SCU State Key Laboratory of Polymer Material Engineering presided over the opening ceremony and delivered a welcome speech. Congratulating the opening of this conference, he introduced the history, organization and preparation work of the conference. He said that this conference would further promote the cooperation and exchange between SCU Polymer Material and their counterparts in China, and would be conducive to the interdisciplinary integration and development of polymer material. Academician Wantai Yang of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Jinghua Yin, a research fellow of Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, made a report to the conference respectively, calling upon young scholars to attach importance to problem-oriented research and address major strategic needs of the country. The conference was organized in an orderly and active atmosphere, which was highly praised by the delegates.
During the conference, young scholars actively shared the management experience of different state key laboratories in a vibrant atmosphere. This conference has set up a platform for mutual learning and exchange between state key laboratories of polymer science, effectively promoting the development of polymer science in China.
