Recently, the 2018-2022 Ministry of Education Teaching Steering Committee of College Oral Medicine was established at a work meeting that was held at West China School of Stomatology. Qiming Wang, Vice Director of Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education, Vice President Lin Zhang of Sichuan University, Professor Xuedong Zhou, the former chairman of the Oral Medicine Teaching Steering Committee, and 44 members of the new Steering Committee of Oral Medicine from 42 universities in China attended the meeting.

Qiming Wang congratulated the members and implored the steering committee to keep their mission in mind, fulfill duties and responsibilities and work efficiently, contributing to the rejuvenation of undergraduate education. On behalf of Sichuan University, Vice President Lin Zhang warmly welcomed the committee members and honored guests and expressed gratitude toward all parties for their long-standing support and help.

Professor Xuedong Zhou summarized the work of the last steering committee with regard to professional certification, education and teaching reform. Ling Ye, Chairman of the steering committee, made a report: “Work Together to Lead the Cultivation of Undergraduate Talents of Stomatology in China". She indicated that the new steering committee would lead the construction of first-class academic subjects, courses, teachers and talents, promote the first-class accreditation and provide intellectual support for the construction of first-class oral medicine education in the undergraduate school, strengthening the country by virtue of higher education. She also mapped out the work plan and key tasks of the new steering committee.

The meeting deliberated and adopted the Steering Committee Work Plan for Oral Medicine Teaching in Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education from 2018 to 2022.
