The quadrennial International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) was held online from July 6 to 14, 2022. Being dubbed the "Olympic Games" of Mathematics, ICM is the world's highest level academic conference in mathematics, Professor Qi Lv was invited to give a 45-minute speech at the conference because of his outstanding scientific research achievements.

On July 9, Qi Lv made a 45-minute report entitled "Control Theory of Stochastic Distributed Parameter Systems: Some Recent Progresses", sharing his achievements and progresses in the control theory of stochastic distributed parameter systems.

Qi Lv is a professor of the College of Mathematics, Sichuan University. He is a winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars.He conducted his postdoctoral program at Laboratoire Jacques-Louis Lions in Paris, France; and Basque Applied Mathematics Center in Spain. He has published research results in Communications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, Journal of the European Mathematical Society, Journal de Mathématiques Pures et Appliquées, SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, Journal of Functional Analysis, Journal of Differential Equations, and Inverse Problems. He has also published three monographs in Springer-Verlag. At present, he serves as an editorial board member of SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, ESAIM: Control, Optimisation and Calculus of Variations, Systems & Control Letters, Mathematical Control and Related Fields.  He was selected as a young scholar in the important talent program of the Ministry of Education. His other academic honors include the applied mathematics youth science and technology award of the China Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, Zhong Jiaqing Award of the Chinese Mathematical Society, etc.
