The "Night of Peking Opera" kicked off at the end of June. The newly edited Peking opera Falling Plum Song was performed in the small theater of the Arts’ College on Jiang’an campus. The unique connotation of Peking opera, coupled with the singing style of Sichuan opera, creates a scene of ups and downs in feudal families in the 1930s.

Liu Jie is a renowned Peking opera artist, a national first-class actor, and the vice president of Chengdu Peking Opera Research Institute. She explained the knowledge of Peking opera and aroused in students interest in Peking opera through the performance of short pieces.

In early December, the Sichuan Provincial Sichuan Opera Theater brought traditional Sichuan opera excerpts. The heart wrenching love story Provoking Persuasion to Study, the passionate patriotic story Ba Lang Returns to Camp, and the play Stopping Horses all showcased the superb skills and singing skills of Sichuan Opera. The applause on site was constant, and the atmosphere was lively.

Yang, a student from the WuYuzhang Honors College, also mentioned, "The activities organized by the university are very meaningful. The inheritance of traditional Chinese operas is not achieved overnight. It requires a large pool of fans to have successors. These school activities are playing such a role, and we hope that traditional Chinese operas can become better and better."

It is reported that the university will also cooperate with professional theater troupes to offer opera classes, so that students can have a deeper understanding of traditional Chinese operas. Let "youth" and "culture" resonate and coexist, and promote the inheritance and innovative development of excellent traditional Chinese culture.
