On November 22, 2019, the China Science and Technology Journal Excellence Action Plan Office issued the “Notice on the Selected Projects of China Science and Technology Journal Excellence Action Plan”. Being one of 22 leading journals out of over 5,000 journals and periodicals nationwide, International Journal of Oral Science ( hereafter referred to as IJOS ) of West China Stomatology has become a leading journal of the China Science and Technology Journal Excellence Action Plan.
This is another major national fund support that IJOS has received after its being selected for the China Science and Technology Journal Excellence Action Plan ( class A project ) in both 2013 and 2016. In addition, West China Journal of Stomatology has been selected for the China Science and Technology Journal Excellence Action Plan ( the echelon journal project ). From more than 5,000 Chinese journals, this project selects 200 well-established and promising journals/periodicals ( 100 English journals, 100 Chinese journals ) as target journals of development. Being a joint effort among the seven government departments such as China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, the China Science and Technology Journal Excellence Action Plan aims to promote the quality development of scientific and technological journals, speeding up the construction of world first-class journals and periodicals in China. It is by far the most powerful support project in terms of the amounts of funds, and the disciplines covered in the field of science and technology journals in China.
Representing the highest level of oral science journals in China, IJOS is the only Chinese mainland journal in SCI-E database. It has also been included in renowned international databases such as PubMed, Scopus, etc. Its impact factor has been ranked in Q1 area for 7 consecutive years, and it has joined the ranks of the world's authoritative journals of stomatology.
In 2011-2017, the composite impact factor of West China Journal of Stomatology ranked first in China’s journals of stomatology for seven consecutive years, and was included as a core journal in the first to eighth editions of the key catalogue of Chinese Core Journals ( Peking University Edition ). It is also included in the well-known databases of MEDLINE、PubMed Central and Scopus. What is more, it has won such titles as “100 Chinese Outstanding Academic Journals”, “Top 100 Scientific and Technological Journals of Chinese universities”, and “Top Quality Scientific and Technological Journals of China” in recent years.
