The International Top-Level Forum on Engineering Science and Technology Development Strategy-Space Aviation Marine was held at Sichuan University on Nov. 3 and 4. Being hosted by the Chinese Academy of Engineering(CAE), this forum was organized jointly by the China Academy of Space Technology(CAST), Navy Beijing Innovation Center, Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China., Ltd. and SCU. Over 500 people attended this forum. They included Yansheng Wu, Chairman of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation; Dongming Guo,director of the Machinery and Transportation Engineering Department of CAE and President of Dalian University of Technology; President Yanrong Li, Vice President Rongjun Li and 30 academicians of CAS and CAE, among others.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Zhiming Qiu, an academician of CAE. Hongtai Zhang, President of CAST, Yanrong Li, President of SCU, Dongming Guo, director of the Machinery and Transportation Engineering Department of CAE, addressed the opening ceremony respectively. President Xiaohong Li of CAE，sent a congratulatory letter to the forum.

At the forum, experts gave keynote reports one after another, sharing the latest development achievements in the fields of aerospace, aviation and navigation. The organizers also held six parallel forums, such as the new space system and intelligent technology forum and the high-end equipment manufacturing technology and innovation forum, focusing on advanced concepts and technologies in those fields, and providing suggestions and ideas for promoting the high-quality development of related industries.

After the opening ceremony, a ceremony was held to launch the "Institute of Robot Satellite" of the General Design Department of (CAST) and SCU’s School of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Chairman Yansheng Wu, President Hongtai Zhang, President Yanrong Li and Weimin Bao, an academician of CAS,  unveiled the nameplate together. Zhicheng Zhou, chief engineer of CAST, vice presidents Rongjun Li and Liangyin Chu of SCU， and heads of the relevant units such as CAST, SCU’s Office of Scientific Research and Development, and the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics attended the unveiling ceremony.
