Sichuan University students of Design, Arts College did a wonderful job at the 19th Platinum OriginalityInternational University Student Graphic Design lately. There were 29,906 artworks by 12,070 students of 1,161 design colleges from 25 countries and regions at the competition. The review panel consisted of domestic and foreign designers such as Xuefeng Bi, Zhengda Chen, Nan Chen, Fasel Sebastien and Fang He.
Zihan Yang’s artwork Aupu- Design for Love won a gold award for Theme Competition. Arts College faculty members Zhen Li and Duanyi Cai were her advisors. In addition, Xiyue-Branding Packages of Silk Scarves, Kids of Stars, Jiangjinjiu-Character Design, Yuji, Old-(Old Building Typeface) also won a prize respectively. In talking about her award winner Aupu- Design for Love, Zihan Yang said that her artwork was inspired by the founder of Aupu, who stated: “Father is concerned that his daughter may catch a cold taking a shower in winter. Consequently, he devised and made the very first bathroom heater of China.” When working on her artwork, she kept in mind the core of the company's concept--let consumers feel the love and warmth that Aupu products bring to people, so as to better integrate products into consumers' daily life.

Platinum Originality International University Student Graphic Designis a global college design competition sponsored by China Academy of Art. Being launched in 2000, the competition aims to improve the level of students majoring in design, promote the innovation of design education, and provide an international platform for Design teachers and students to exchange ideas. It has become an important professional competition in the field of design and design education. It is also deemed one of the most standardized and authoritative competitions for university students.
